RESPONSE TO COVID-19

To reduce the spread of COVID-19, Champaign County Department of Job and Family Services (CCDJFS) has begun developing measures that will assist us in continuing to provide critical services to community residents, while also practicing recommended preventative measures.  CCDJFS has or will be taking necessary steps to continue serving our customers in the safest and healthiest way possible.

Our office remains staffed Monday-Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm and we can be reached at 937-484-1500 during regular business hours.  For information on how to access our services remotely, please visit our website at http://www.champaigndjfs.org/.  Additional updates on our services are as follows:

Effective March 17, 2020, OhioMeansJobs Champaign County is closed to the general public, however, job seeker and local employer-based supportive services remain intact by calling us at 937-484-1581, visiting us on facebook @OMJChampaignCounty or through resources available at Ohiomeansjobs.com.

·     Effective March 19, 2020, CCDJFS will no longer be accepting child support payments at our location.  Alternative avenues for making required child support payments can be found on our website or by contacting us by phone.

·  Effective March 19, 2020 CCDJFS benefit recovery payments can be made by contacting us to schedule an appointment.

·        Effective March 19, 2020, the agency lobby will be closed to anyone without a pre-scheduled appointment. Customers will be asked to submit all applications and verifications to the agency via electronic methods outlined on our website or by dropping them off via our mail slot on our main lobby door.  All documents will be processed as normal and staff will mail a receipt to verify the agency has received the submitted documentation or will contact our customers via phone if a phone interview is being scheduled, or if we have any questions.

·      Anyone may make a report of suspected child or adult (age 60 or over) maltreatment by calling 937-484-1500. If you believe a child is in immediate danger of serious harm call 911. Child and Adult Protective Services can be accessed for emergencies, after regular business hours, by calling the Champaign County Dispatch Center at 937-653-3409 and asking for the on-call Children’s Services worker to be paged.

We thank you for your understanding, support and patience as we work together as a community to provide necessary services in the safest and healthiest manner possible.
